Ah yes, the hotel key urban legend. That one has been floating around since the 80's. Like all other UL's, its value is only in those gullible enough to believe it.
*IF* it were true, and the keys did contain all that information, it would have been immediately caused a lawsuit and no hotel needs to expose themselves to such things. Hotel keys have two bits of info: Room number and expiration time. That's it.
