I've sold a few cars on ebay. It's not cheap. So keep that in mind first and
foremost. It's useful for selling a special car like a Spitfire, but I tend to let
them sit in my driveway for a while with a for sale sign on them before shelling out
the money for an e-bay listing.

That said, here's a couple of pointers.

You can't have too many good pictures. The more the better. Link to a picture
posting page to carry more. All the angles, all the spots like trunk and engine bay.
Make sure they are clear and complimentary.

Be accurate. List and better yet photograph the defects. Really go through the
vehicle and tell exactly how things are. This includes things you can't photograph
like a noisy gearbox.

Remember that almost all the bidding will take place in the last 5 minutes of the
listing.

Mentally be prepared to deadbeat bidders. I haven't had that on a car yet, but I know
lots of folks who have, and I have had it on other items. It's not the end of the
world, but be prepared for it. E-bay has some rules for this, but to use them you
must obey them.
