Andrew,

The SAE90 (EP90) is what you need - and to GL4 spec - *not* GL5 - which is without the nasty suphur additives that eat yellow metal... ie - it'll dissolve bits of your gearbox (GL5 spec will, GL4 spec wont)

You want some nice 20/50 oil - not sure what part of the world youre in - but buy the best you can - if youre paying less than about 15 quid for 5 litres then forget it... (depending on how expensive the stuff is - in the US its cheap as chips (french fries) - where as here in blighty its darned expensive!)

Penrite do good oil - as is Duckhams Q - Castrol Classic is meant to be good too.

Ok, thanks to all the responses that I got the heater controls all work
flawlessly now (took the dash apart and worked them through with
lubrication). The map light was...er....more pilot error. I figured out
how the on/off switch actually works, and now it works just fine. I have
ordered a set of those speed bleed valves -- I will get to that next
weekend.

I was reading that SAE90 is the oil used in the transmission and various
other parts -- can I purchase any type of SAE 90?

What oil filters do people recommend? Currently have a Unipart model. I
would like to see if there is a good oil filter than Canadian Tire stocks
(hey, they are close)

Is there an oil people recommend? My Haynes book suggests SAE 20W/50 and I
was going to pick up a jug of Castrol GTX or something in that viscosity.

Next question -- I think that the water pump may be going. Appears to have
a small drip on the underside of it near the pipe union at the rear. Drip
only happens when the engine is running.

(geeze soon I will have irritated everyone with too many questions)
