Well, unsurprisingly, I didn't make it :-( Most of the job went smoothly, in fact topologically speaking the exhaust is completely off the car. Unfortunately, the manifold (one of the most broken bits) is of the twin down-pipe variety and does not have a downpipe flange to undo. Thus, I am faced with a kind of executive toy style puzzle where I can get the manifold so far THIS way until it knocks against THAT part... So far the candidates for removal are (a) all the studs - not too simple since I tried this option and succeeded in removing only 1 of the first 4 I tried. (b) the lower steering column (c) the engine (d) the body tub. Another option is to hacksaw the manifold but the new one is the exact same shape and I wouldn't like to have to weld THAT back together under the car on fitting! *** http://www.team.net/the-local *** Your messages not reaching the list?
