Well, I broke out my We Tight wallet for a copy of "How to build and power tune Distributor Type Ignition Systems" by Des Hammil, which was mentioned in the article you linked below. This does go through all the general steps of setting up a dizzy for a modified engine, and is well worth the $20 (incl. shipping from Amazon) I spent. And I found I already have a dizzy machine under the hood (bonnet) of the Midget.
I'll keep everyone informed on how I do. But I now think that part of the problem with gutless behavior under 2500 rpm has to do with the wrong advance curve in the Mallory. And the "emissions dizzy", set more advanced than stock, might be pretty close! -=Chris Chris King http://home.comcast.net/~kvcbk/ <-----Original Message-----> From: William M. There are still guys who race with dizzys and they may know where to find one. There is an article on the web at http://www.jcna.com/library/tech/tech0015.html about tuning dizzys. It is a good read and will allow you to get close before you get to the dizzy machine. _______________________ Bill Gilroy 77 MG Midget . *** http://www.team.net/the-local *** Your messages not reaching the list?
