A few years ago I had my car shipped from Oregon to New Jersey. Note that most people offering car transportations service, especially on the internet, are simply agents who find an actual trucking company to do the work, and who never even see the car itself.
I suggest getting a copy of Hemming's and perusing the ads. The company that actually moved my car (with their name painted on the side of the truck) was White Cloud Auto Transport of Boise, Idaho. I was happy with their job. Nowadays they have a website: www.whitecloudauto.com. OR: Just drive it yourself. I did San Jose to Portland once without any problems, which is maybe half as far as San Diego to Seattle.
