Well I figured out what it was. The DPO had somehow bent the column mounting bracket that is welded to the dash downward (actually caving the steel dash top itself. I am not sure how he did it, but when I really checked it closely against the 72 Spitfire and the 70 GT6 I noticed that the column relative to the dash opening it was about an inch lower. So a little persuasion with a jack against the floorboard and the mounting bracket set it right - Barry Schwartz (San Diego) --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
