I caught a fascinating Birtish series on the History Channel this morning called "Spitfire Ace" which was part documentary, part reality TV. It combined a low-key competition among young men who vied to be trained in flying a restored Spitfire Supermarine with a very concise documentary about the Battle of Britain, including interviews with Spitfire pilots, German pilots, much origiinal footage as well as new pictures shot above the British countryside. It seems to have been made in the last year or so and this is the first I had heard or seen of it. It is to be re-broadcast this afternoon at 4PM. Check your local listings.
