Your clutch disk is frozen to the pressure plate/flywheel. It is a, umm, behavior that they can do occasionally if left alone for too long. There are several fixes. One is to put the handbrake on, put the gearbox in 3rd or 4th gear, depress the clutch, and attempt to start the engine. The torque of the starter against the handbrake should free the clutch, unless it is stuck really really hard. Another idea is to take the handbrake off, leave the clutch engaged, put the gearbox in 1st, start the engine (which will make the car jump forward). Once the engine gets started, depress the clutch and the brake. Either way, it's a slightly frightening experience.
