I admit it, I have a WHEEL fetish. Am I the only one? I HATE my factory skinny VW looking wheels. 13x5's are not what I want. I want 13x7 rear and 13x5.5 up front PERIOD. I know this goes against many of your pusrist opinions, so don't hate me. At least I did not cram a 350 short block in it. It's all stock except for the Weber/Header. I just LIKE THAT LOOK! Maybe I will outgrow it one day, but at 36 I am still into it as far as Spitfires go.
Here is the question, I am looking at Diamond Wheels (Only option in those sizes I can find and Panasport does not offer 13x7 for street use, race only which means $$$). 1) What size studs are factory? 2) Are stock wheels Hub Centric or Lug Centric? 3) What size is the factory lug nut? The reason I ask is, the Diamond wheels are LUG centric (and I "think" the Spitfire is HUB Centric). They only offer a 7/16 stud hole in the 4 on 3.75" pattern. So, I dont think I can use a tappered factory lug nut with these Lug Centric Wheels, I think I need MAG style lugs for the LUG centric wheel. But, I want to keep my factory studs for sure. As far as lugs, I dont care if I have to buy new ones as long as the marriage works correctly with my factory studs. Yes, I have air shocks and a new spring. No, my car does not hop higher than beer cans! Thanks for your help! If ANYONE has 13x7's and 13x5's or 13x5.5's that will work for me (lugs included), please let me know! THANKS Shane Tired of spam?
