Just received a Hood Cover Mohair Spitfire MK3 from Rimmer it is short of 1
1/2 inches laterally (read Width), I would need at least 1 inches (minimum)
more to be able to attached the snaps at the root of the Main Hoodstick.
Mohair material is not much stretchable. The attaching plates to the body at
the Main Hoodstick are at their lowest point. To be on the safe side, I
reinstalled the old Vinyl Hood Cover and it fit well.
Can it be that the Mohair Material shrunk that much or made too small in
width. Anyone had that kind of problem before? Also where can I buy without
a perfect fit Mohair Hood Cover for a Spitfire MK3 1970? I will probably
have to return it in England.
I have never install a Hood Cover before but with the frame at it lowest
position the Hood cover should at least fit in the snaps on each side
without hard pulling but with some tension.
All comments are very much welcome because I am in great needs for advises.
Have a very nice day all of you
P-Ernest
