John,
Did you install the shims behind the pads?  They are designed to help
prevent such noises.  If you did not then I would recommend them.  If you
did, and they still squeak, you might try some of the anti squeal compound
from the auto parts store and squirt some on the back of the pads against
the shim and a little between the shim and the caliper piston.

Subject: [Spit] brake noise

So Fellow Spit owners, here is my problem.  I have brake squeak, front.
Foot on the brake and it goes away.  Brakes and rotors are recent, all other
brake parts new. I have been told that it comes from glaze on the
pads/rotors, and the glaze can be somehow taken off, but that I should not
worry about it.  Car stops just fine, no loss of brake fluid, etc.  Should I
do something to solve the squeaking problem?
