Doug, Unfortunately, it does not provide sufficient venting. I found that out myself quite a few years ago. Providing venting for the crankcase does resolve the problem.

Even if you have no way to hook up a PVC valve (non-stock carb?), the hose fitting on the rocker arm cover should be able to provide venting.
