Perhaps I misunderstood, I thought he bent the outer flange with the wheel
studs on his '74 Spitfire and was going to use the 67 axles after installing
the bigger '74 u-joint flanges on them. The 67 axles are shorter and if
installed on a 74 will not fit well and will result in extra toe in. I know,
I did this myself about 30 years ago.
