Not necessarily. If the bearing is loose the vibrations might cause noise that is stopped when the bearing contacts the pressure plate fingers. But in most situations, you are probably right.

Joe, don't I wish you were right. But the TO bearing would stop making noise, not start, when I release the clutch. And with the clutch depressed and the car rolling it wouldn't start making noise whenever I engage any gear, and stop when I put it back into neutral. -- Jim Muller [email protected] '80 Spitfire, '70 GT6+ _______________________________________________ [email protected] Donate: http://www.team.net/donate.html Suggested annual donation $11.47 Archive: http://www.team.net/archive Forums: http://www.team.net/forums Unsubscribe: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/triumphs/[email protected] _______________________________________________ [email protected] Donate: http://www.team.net/donate.html Suggested annual donation $11.47 Archive: http://www.team.net/archive Forums: http://www.team.net/forums Unsubscribe/Manage: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/spitfires/[email protected]
