Jack, I had a Weber setup on my 79 Spit before I changed to European SU HS4's. I had the electric choke DGV 32/36 model. On the bottom of the mounting plate, that the air filter sits on there was a small tube to hook up the hose from the rocker cover. This way the oily fumes from the engine would get reburned. I chose to cap the tube coming off the bottom of the air filter plate with a rubber cap. I then found an inexpensive aftermarket 2 or 3" filter and put that directly on the valve cover vent tube. I wasn't too keen on sucking oily gas through my new Weber carb. I needed to clean the filter at the valve cover about every other month. This worked well for the 2 years I had this setup.

Unfortunately, I've no experience with the Weber conversion myself.
