I ended up making my own hub puller from scratch, and it worked fine. I got a plasma cutter from Christmas, and I need something to do with it. I started with a 6"x6" piece of 1/2" steel plate. I cut it round, and cut a ~2" hole in the middle. Then I drilled the 4 holes for the studs, and added a 4-sided "top hat" made from small pieces of 3/8" plate. In the middle of the "top hat" I drilled a 3/4" hole, welded on a 3/4" nut, and inserted a 3/4 hardened bolt. Total cost: under $10.
To remove the hubs, I had to tighten the bolt real hard, more than I expected, but both hubs came off with a "bang" (and no damage to the axle shaft ends). If anybody in the NJ area needs to borrow it, let me know.
