Team: Now that I have had the opportunity to do some tuning and
playing with my new NOS setup, I have found that it is a great deal of fun to
go out prowling. While I am still fighting a bit of surging to low bottle
pressure, when the nitrous hits, it hits hard! Ask the V6 Eclipse that found
out the hard way tonight. From the light, I took off at throttle and he had
no problem keeping up with me and was ready to make his kill….but then I
shifted to 3rd gear and put the peddle to the floor. The nitrous
kicked in and I left him in my dust rather quickly….then shifting to 4th
he began to come up again, until I planted the Saturn to WOT again and put a
car length between us. At the next light, the guy wouldn’t even look at
me. Now, that was just a V6 eclipse….lets talk about the Camaro that wanted in on the action. We didn’t have
the chance to leave at a light, but cruising along we were doing a few short
hops to see what each other had…these “kids” in the Camaro were obviously having fun with me while they decided
how they wanted to have a Saturn for a late snack……well from a 40
mph float, he laid into it and began pulling away….I got my rpm’s
up to 3k and let loose….the front tires broke loose and I climbed to 5k
pretty quickly…then into 4th gear and WOT….I was very
surprised to catch up to the Camaro, but not quite as
surprised as they were! We both had to let off as neither one of use wanted to
be pulled over. Had we had some more room, I would have liked to have seen how
long I could have kept pace with them. Anyway….NOS is fun and I can’t wait for warmer
weather! Scott W. Thomas, MCSE |
