OK, never mind, I answered my own (and many other people's) question. I
just remembered that I wrote all this up for the SPOC NE web site, which is
one of the lists this server has been hosting for the past couple of months.
To subscribe, send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use any subject
line. For the text of your message, enter "Subscribe spoc yourname".
(Replace yourname with your actual name!) Send the e-mail, and you will be
confirmed and then added to the list. To unsubscribe from the list at
anytime, send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with any subject, and
in the message text, "Unsubscribe spoc".
When you first subscribe to the list, you are automatically on standard
mode. To switch to digest, after subscribing send another e-mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED], any subject, and body text of "set mode digest
spoc". You will now be on digest mode, and get larger, less frequent clumps
of posts rather than each individual message in real time. To switch from
digest to standard mode, e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED], any subject,
body text of "set mode standard spoc".
