If SPOC members have any suggestions on how to improve the club then they should feel free to post them or to email any of the officers. I will be happy to answer any questions or work on any issues if emailed with your input. Chris Haywood

As far as the officers being self nominated, that is whole heartedly untrue. I attempted to request people to nominate themselves, etc. to positions to help out the club, I got very few responses. So the club began to "fall apart"...list activity went to near zero and people looked elsewhere. Neil was chosen simply because he was the absolute best fit for what I felt the club needed, and to this day I feel he is the best damn webmaster this club has had. What I did then do is get together with the chapter presidents and rather than have a nominated body of representatives...we chose a more democratic style of leadership. We attempted to get things organized as a club, that is why most of the officers don't post anymore...no one was interested. No one wanted to hear what we had to say because no one wanted to take the club "to the next level". Nothing against, we could be huge, damn huge. My chapter alone has anywhere from 125-150 members and that is just in Pennsylvania. Honestly, I was more or less placed in the position I am in. One day everyone said, "Hey, Keith's the club president..." And it was written. Honestly, if you feel that you could do a better job, then rather than bitch from the armchair or the stadium, step up to the plate and get a headache. And money wise, I was never commenting that I wanted to make money off of this club...that is absurd mainly because the minute the club starts to "make money" is the minute Saturn shuts us down...trust me on this one I know. I mean though wouldn't it be nice to have club shirts or window banners or stuff like that. I mean last time I had Neil check the database I think that we had close to 800 members or more (Neil correct me here)...when the domain needed renewed, do you want to know where the money came from?! 6th Planet, that is where...now we had some issues with the original domain and NetSol is being a pain in the butt so we came up with the new domain and once again, guess who paid for it? Neil this time. I mean, if the club members all PayPal'ed $1 EACH it would easily pay for the domain many times over and finally I might be able to reward Neil for some of the hard work he has done/is doing or pay back Joey the money for the original registration that went bad. Oh and as far as dues supporting the national vs. local...that was why we have a treasurer so that the appropriate funds get used appropriately. I mean, wouldn't it be nice to come up with the cash to have a booth right next to Saturn at SEMA...do you think we might get attention then? Never happen... I am sure you are right about you and Joey accounting for 90% of the bandwidth, but I still think some of the original members are unsure about the new list and how to post, etc. Call it newness call it what you want. I appreciate anyone's input on this list, believe me, it is just that it pisses me off when stupid comments are made that make the club look bad... Oh, and I wear my flame suit at all the times and it is tested on Mercury so there is really nothing you can say that is going to affect me adversely...bring it...
