They're full of $%|^. Start the car, plug in the diagnostic computer, and it retrieves codes instantly. But since with OBD-II there's no way to get the codes yourself, you kind of HAVE to take it to the dealer, and they get to make easy money off you. Or do they? Not with me. :) http://www.ghg.net/dharrison/ - I got OBDScan for my Palm, and can read codes from any OBD-II car anytime I want. Not the cheapest solution at $176 (Windows version is slightly less), but if you take your car to the dealer to get scanned three times, that's $195. I figured if I bought it and used it three times, I'd still save money. And I have. And Satan...
