Scott: I would think the light timed out on ignition cycles, and should
return for your old code, if not for the rear O2 signal. It is worth getting
them read and fixing the source. Chris

Subject: [SPOC] Check Engine Light

Team:

If anyone can explain this, I would love to hear it.

I have a 97 SOHC w/ OBDII. After installing my new throttle body,
nitrous, and such...the check engine light has decided to stay lit. It
has been this way for the last 3 or 4 weeks and I just ignored it as I
figured it had to do with something that I did.

Now as many of you know, I installed the header on my car last night. In
the process of wrestling with the exhaust, I dropped the catalyst onto
the concrete and broke the material inside. I figured that since this
would cause a problem down the road....the rest of the insides of my
catalyst...umm..well sorta fell out. Since my SES light was already
on....who cares right?

Well after having the header all welded up and getting everything
buttoned up tonight....I am happy to report that my SES light finally
went out. Now, can anyone explain why the 2nd O2 sensor isn't lighting
up my dash?
