I toasted one battery, and about two months after I put on the pulleyes, my alternator died. The one I put in lasted about 6 months. I just put in a new alt from Saturn, and left the stock pulleye on it. I am keeping the crank pulleye on, as that makes the big performance difference. Living in Canada, it just doesn't cut it for winter driving. I installed the Apexi turbo timer in my car, as I am working on a turbo project. One of the features on timer is a battery readout, as well as an air/fuel gauge. I found that at a stoplight, with your foot on the brake, stereo, blower motor, and headlights on, the system voltage was down to 11.8 after only 30 seconds at a stop. Now with the new alternator with the stock pulleye on, 13.1 and steady, where the 11.8 was still dropping voltage. Hope this helps you out.
