It sounds liek a classic case of your fuel pump leaking pressure back into
the fuel tank, resulting in longer crank times. Go into your dealership and
see if it still covered by Saturns special warranty on it. If not, buy a new
pump to fix it. Chris

OK,

I hope someone can help me on this one. 97 SC2. Every
so often I just will not start on the first crank or
takes forever. Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. If
it doesn't start the first time it fires right up on
the next. I changed the plugs and wires hoping this
would correct the problem, but it has not. I also
gapped the plugs to spec. The parts store only had
Autolites plugs in stock...do the Saturns just not
like these plugs? Anything else on this car that could
cause that or is there just something picky I don't
know about? I've only been a Saturn owner goning on 2
weeks now, so I'm in the dark right now.

Thanks,

Dale
