Actually, that is a false statement.  Part of the reason is as Joey explains with the 
sound since the 91-92 header was louder than later manifolds, part
of it is cost to produce the manifolds since they are a 9-piece construction, and the 
last part is that the EPA frowned on Saturn putting a stainless
steel header on a car from the factory.  Your tax $$$ at work...  And yes, you should 
see a nice bump in mid-high range torque and hp from the 92 header
with no loss of low end.  It is a well designed, good flowing, and well constructed 
unit.  In the future I'll be replacing my hotshot with one.
