If the pedal is leaking with an open bleeder screw the pedal will fall to
the floor and not come back up on its own.  If you boil your fluid at the
track, you will have a mushy pedal feel as you now have air in the lines,
and can be fixed with a bleed of the system to purge the air out.

 A generally mushy pedal feel is symptom of a bad MC, or possibly glazed
pads (only at the track).
