I understand that, but I the coil I want to remove is "dead" anyways.  When
I'm just cruising that bottom coil is not an active part of the suspension,
plus there are 2 or 3 coils above it that are compressed as well.

What do you mean "crappy ride...on sprint springs..."?  They ride just fine
and handling has improved over stock springs.

Cutting springs has an adverse affect on the way your car handles, and the
crappy ride you'll get on sprint springs anyways, as well as effectively
increasing the spring rate.  Dont go cutting things just because of the way
it looks - suspension geometry is generally not something to fvck around
with for a street car.
