His speakers were 4 ohm standard speakers...all Fusion car audio are 4 ohm...I sold and helped install them...
And I wouldn't say that it is only top line speakers that are 2 ohm...from the install clinic I went to on Boston's, even the factory rep stated that although they stated that Boston are 2 ohm "stable", he would never recommend installing them with a 2 ohm load...simply because the conductors and wiring on components especially is so fine that 2 ohm loads can actually melt the wiring. As a matter of fact, I can honestly say doing installs I avoid running any "internal" speakers at 2 ohm simply because your speakers will not last as long. Sub's are more resilient so those are mainly the speakers that we would run at low ohm levels...I know my Kicker subs I had running stable at around 0.75 - 1.25 ohms, and the Kicker representative could not believe that mine were running at that, nor could he understand how my amp was handling it without totally frying. ::Shrugs:: But what do I know Have fun, drive safe, ENJOY THE RIDE!
