It's looking good! We're going for the tent again. Brian, the more I
think about it, the more I think we may be better off if you bring your
car to Carlisle in addition to mine. That'll boost our numbers and help
secure the tent. :) Up to you, though - I won't make you walk if you
don't want to drive. ;)
I've proposed that those of us with FRS two-way radios all coordinate on
channel 6 for Carlisle operations - chatting around the fairgrounds,
convoys to and from there, etc. That way it'll be easy for all of us to
hook up and keep in touch. My SL2 can be the base station - the ham
radio in the car can receive FRS signals a bit better than that chunk of
rubber on the hand-helds. That way, we can let everyone know when the
burnouts at the Saturn tent start so nobody misses them. >:)
It'll also help with our convoy down there and back. Brian and I are
definitely going. Don's said he's interested too. Once we know who is
definitely going, we can make plans to hook up and travel together.
I've got a couple of FRS radios I can spread around to the convoy.
