Mine looks like crap to. I bought some plastic polish once, it worked great for about a week then it just went back to the faded washed out look. I kinda gave up on it. The Wax idea Brian mentioned might work though.
I don't have the problem on my '01 though. Two years old and still looking good. Probably a different kind of plastic. Speaking of the '01 its birthday is coming up. I took delivery on April 13, 2000.
