What a blast! A total of 6 cars from SPOC NE, 5 of which traveled down in a
convoy from CT. Brian's SL2 remains in Andover, with a puddle of antifreeze
under it. (My guess, after looking at it, is the water pump.) So he
convinced me that he and I should bring my car in his place. I didn't even
have time to wash it, never mind detail it, but there we were, and had a
blast!
No SPOC NE winners in the Saturn classes (yes, this year Saturns have their
own class separate from GMs). I did, however, manage to take 2nd in class
in the NASA time trial - a class of something like 15-20 people. I was
beaten by a modified Eclipse. It's pretty amazing that I did as well as 2nd
in a stock Saturn! But everything just totally came together that run. I
could've braked later a couple of times or taken a turn slightly faster, but
I'm really nitpicking. Scott Thomas won his class in his SL, thus putting
Saturns at the top of both classes they can run in. =B^)
Brian and I have lots of pics and video. We'll have to sort through them,
post pics up on the web somewhere, and assemble a video of the highlights -
like the 5 minute long burnout by a Firebird that ended only when the engine
blew. :)
