China has broken US Military Encryption Code:
According to a report in the right-leaning Washington Times, which has strong
sources in the defense establishment under U.S. President George W. Bush,
American officials have no reason to doubt the veracity of a claim recently made
by three mainland Chinese cryptologists who claimed to have cracked the U.S.
military's "Secure Hash Algorhythm-1" code.
SHA-1, as the code is commonly called, has been used by the U.S. military and
intelligence community to verify the authenticity of encrypted communication
and data files since 1994.
