There are seldom discussions here but to answer your question:

Thinking it would disappear is just like thinking that any other mean
of communication would disappear: It is just so crucial and versatile
that thinking of any other mean or a replacement is a futile exercise
in thought. The technology is there, available, versatile and cheap.
