Greetings, all, first time poster here so be gentle...

I read something interesting in, of all places, WikiPedia,
about letter beacons.

Dunno about that, but Havana Moon did trace some of the V5 numbers transmissions (could have been the older 4FG format) to Florida, near Jupiter Inlet as I recall.

Hi Chris & All,
This subject came up on site a few years ago, as it does from time to time, and if I remember correctly was completely discredited as one of the "numbers myths".
Chris, it would have been prudent to say "allegedly Havana Moon"
Hi Mike,

See Popular Communications magazine, Oct and Nov 1988 for the article Havana Moon wrote.

Hi Chris & All,
An interesting article on some of the secure military installations in a particular area of the Florida Keys with a liberal sprinkling of mystery. Interesting that he uses, as any writer making a supposition but short on hard facts prudently would, judicious application of :- Alleged, Suspected, Possibly, Maybe, Supposed to be, Somewhere, I have no real proof, Might be, Could not find, Not certain.

At no point in the article is there :-
I can confirm, I found, There is.

My personal interpretation of the article , once all the irrelevant jounalistic padding (to the particular initial statement) is stripped out, is that he is clearly saying :- "The info I received was wrong, there's nothing there - but there could be elsewhere" and presented it in such a way that the reader is left with even more questions arising.

I also note that the header states it's a "tribute to HM written IN his style"
and not "written BY" so is this a third party interpretation of some previous material, I do not know the answer to that.

Cheers
Mike L
