<<Hey, anyone out there got the guts to write an HONEST book review? Comments? Criticisms? I'm going back to sleep now.... zzzzzzzzzz>>
As to the review, I believe I did so concerning the absolutely miserably captioned SP in Color book, fancifully collected by David Sweetland and from Mourning Sun Press. The review appeared in Flimsies. As to your other point, I think there is a distinct possibility that, in the long view, each of us may have taken one or two truly historically significant photos. The reality is, we cannot know today what will be the "truly historically significant photos" of tomorrow. I don't let that stop me from taking pictures, and many of them. An average painter, sculptor or composer might produce one "important" work in his lifetime. Knowing that, he doesn't abjure the creative process. He does it because he does it. So do we. I would seriously suggest not being too serious about this photography business (unless you make a LOT of bread from it). Have fun, do your personal best, and don't think for a minute that it means a damn. The President of my AFM local in the City once said (when we were talking about Symphony or some other negotiations) that he wasn't going to take it TOO seriously, because we were all pimples on the butt of history.
