My two cents worth:

I have found the Domke Sling bags to work very well because they have an
additional pocket inside to put my monopod into. What Domke calls their
Tripod bags, do not. Domke bags also have a huge heavy-duty zipper.

I also like Tamrac's big Location bag for the same reasons. It has two
pockets inside. It is also great for a few light stands.

A couple of quick tripod traveling tips: When traveling, take the tripod
head off or better yet, the whole center column out with the tripod head on
it and pack it in your regular carry-on bag or luggage. Too much padding
there then to break all of the plastic knobs on most of them. Also, if you
use a set of tripod leg pads like those offered from Op-Tech or Tri-Pads,
that is usually enough padding to protect any tripod as well as make it
more comfortable to carry over your shoulder in use and work with in the
freezing cold.
