Dave- I went back over through my archive of lists I have subscribed to, and find only this for SPORRS: ''There is no manager or director. The list is totally automated. There are essentially no formal rules.'' ''...you can post the results of your latest trip, and let everyone know how you did. You can also talk about books, magazines, videos, etc -- just about anything related to railfanning.'' ''For anything that doesn't qualify as news, but IS related to railfanning or train watching, please use SPORRS.'' ''I only ask that anyone who posts to SPORRS keep their topic somehow related to railroad photography, and be courteous in respecting the views of those with whom you disagree.'' -Jim Gilley, 14 Jul 1997 For the record, I can't find anything that supports your note. Given the content of my original item regarding the photography and writing in the current issue of RailNews, and Mr. Gilley's comments on SPORRS' content as outlined above, it would seem to me that it was entirely appropriate for dissemination on SPORRS. I am not sure I understand the logic behind a separate post to SPORRS and CUNY to distribute the same material. The possibility of cross posts from CUNY members to SPORRS is not possible as SPORRS notes have to come through subscribers. If someone has a more recent item for Do's and Don'ts for SPORRS, please forward them to me at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Regards, J.A.
