I realize that we have just about beaten this topic to death.  So with this
short post, I will drop the subject.

Dave Busse apparently heard something similar to the rumor about Canon's
new AF camera with more than 5 focusing spots.  As fast as photographic
technology is advancing, I wonder how far away might be this idea?

Instead of multiple focusing spots that are selected manually or by looking
at a specific one, how about a "focusing zone" within the viewfinder where
the camera user controls a moving cursor (spot) that tracks the subject?
The moving cursor would always default to the center unless activated. Boy,
that would lend itself nicely to our type of photography, sports, etc.
