dave,
I have used a Bretford Acculight Model 6000 for the last sdeveral
years. It is a four foot wide light box that will hold four 36 exposure
rolls with the two clear plastic frames. The clear plastic frames (extra)
allow for easy picking up of the slides and will hold them in place if the
box is tilted forward.
If you want an ideal setup, they have legs and a bracket available
that will hold one box flat like a table and the other also vertical behind
it. Without the clear plastic frames you can get about six rolls of 36
slides on the table at one time. It is a little large an aukward for both
storage and finding a place to set it up and work, but the large size is
very nice while sorting large numbers of slides at one time and being able
to see them all with a quick glance. If my memory is correct, it was a
about $250 four years ago from Adorama.
