Therein lies the difference between the railfan photographer and the pro
shooter who happens to like trains.  The railfan shooter willingly spends
his/her own money to do something that we pros get paid to do.  Given the
choice, I'll be a pro any day.

Some railfans once asked me to go with them on a railfan outing to shoot
diesels, and, kiddingly, I asked them to whom should I send my invoice. 
They could not believe that I was not interested in going along "for the
fun of it."  Maybe I am just jaded, but that sounded like work to me.  (I
might have gone along had it been steam.)  John B. Corns
