Some of the perils of outdoor photography -- poison ivy, poison oak, etc.
I thought I was careful, but somehow I brushed against a poisonous plant
while photographing trains on Long Island. Now I have severe rashes on my
forehead, neck, and arms. One patch under my eyebrow was so bad for a
couple of days that my right eye was almost closed.

Use me as an example that even though the fall weather is approaching in
many parts of the country, the bad stuff is still growing (and holds its
potent power even after it dies).

I don't want to get a cortisone shot or take any antihistamines, as many
people suggest. Aside from putting the various soothing creams on the hot
spots, do any of you have a remedy for this stuff? I'm a city boy and I'm
not used to it. (Rats, muggers, or gunshots; I can handle.)
