I guess I'm a Kodachrome die-hard because I live in Northern Calif. where it's usually sunny. My opinion is that 98% of shots taken on rainy days look like s*** no matter what film you use. So living here in the West, I have the luxury of waiting for a sunny day before going out. If I lived back East, I probably would shoot half Fuji, half K25.
I haven't seen Sensia 2. I'm not wedded to Kodachrome, I just think it's the best for my particular needs so far. If Sensia 2 is better, I'll switch too. Basically I consider Sensia/Provia to be THE film for night shots, except for brightly lit spots in which the extra sharpness of K25 can be put to good use. For all other night shots, Provia is it. Velvia, on the other hand, just doesn't look good to me under most circumstances, although it works really well on pine forests (such as Donner Pass) in high light, certainly better than Kodachrome. It brings out the color in the trees without looking TOO colorized. Everywhere else it looks 'fake'. So yes, Fuji films are good for many applications. JUST DON'T TELL ME KODACHROME IS DEAD! It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. KODACHROME IS DEAD! It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. EB --> SPORRS: Serious Photographers of Railroad Related Subjects
