Most of the Kodakcrome available in Canada is "film
price includes processing by Kodak" variety.

Kodak had two Canadian labs, one in Vancouver, the other in
Toronto. The Vancouver lab shut down about five years ago,
the Toronto lab about two. Now, Kodak sends our film to a
variety of labs in the US, with mixed results. They do still
supply the bilingual cardboard mounts (diapositif is French for
slide).

My fall vacation was all on K-64. Two of the 14 rolls were very
poorly mounted. Other Canadians have experienced this problem
with Kodak. Is mounting of the slides in the mounts done by a
machine ?.

Does anyone know if any of the other Kodak plants and labs outside
the U.S. still exist ?. From time to time, we used to get
K-64 manufactured at Hemel Hempstead U.K. When overseas, I've had
KX and K-64 processed at Hemel and it seems as good.

The great Fuji versus Kodak debate goes on in Canada also.
Recently, a friend started shooting Agfacrome because of his
concerns regarding Kodakcrome. I shot some Agfa in the sixties,
it has stayed colour fast. Always a bit on the brown side.
Newer Agfa seems to be going after Fuji in types of film available
etcetera. Agfa colours seem better than those on Velvetta ( sorry,
Velvia).

I lost a lot of respect for Kodak when they moved out of Canada
after NAFTA (along with Kelvinator , Caterpillar and other U.S.
corporations). If Fuji shows they have faith in the Canadian
economy by starting a plant here, maybe I will start using their
film.
