The best one (35mm) that I have used recently are the Polaroid Sprint Scans that we have at the campus. Quick and good software that works right. BTW, I have a Nikon Coolscan, the LS-10 original one. I hope the new Nikon scanners come with better software and a decent SCSI card these days. Anybody have one? (Warren?) And as long as it's on my mind... If you ever need support with a Nikon scanner, then you have to deal with Nikon Electronic Imaging's Technical Support at (516) 547-4311. They will not answer the phone, so you get an answering machine (that's right, not even a voice-mail menu), and if you leave them a message, they will respond by fax about a week later, and in each case here the first two times, with the wrong instruction sheet because they didn't talk to me to find out what I actually needed help with. They have never returned my phone calls (been trying for over a year to reach someone there) and this thing still doesn't work like they said that it should (on the fax), but it's usable. That's my opinion from my experience with my Nikon scanner. I hope yours is better. You will notice the resemblance to the other Nikon USA divisions in reference to service quality and product support. Could it be a coincidence? A damn ironic one if it is. You know which scanner I think you should (not) buy. Dave Cohen Photographer [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.att.net/~acphotog --> SPORRS: Serious Photographers of Railroad Related Subjects
