Used correctly, warming filters can really enhance a photo, especially to remove the excess blue that is found in open shade on a blue-sky day. Be careful if you plan to use a warming filter on an overcast or rainy day, as too much warming will look very un-natural since there are no warm colors on those days. (In fact, on some rainy days I will add a blue filter to my lens to enhance to drearyness of the scene.) Problem is, you cannot tell just by looking at a scene how much warmth to add, as the human brain has no color memory to determine from day to day how blue the scene is. Remember, less is more.
