Absolutely, but in the case that I cited about the nose of a diesel, the sky area containing the two overlapped g.n.d. filters was out of the camera's field of view. Once I even used four of these g.n.d. filters to frame around a backlighted subject, and the photo looked great for what it had been originally! I wish they made these filters with different shaped clear areas in the centers of the filters, then you could do this photo manipulation with more regularity and eveness of exposure...and fewer hands.
