A few weeks ago, I posted to SPORRS comments regarding two different
conversations I had with people at two different Kodak Labs. For those who
did not see the original post and anyone who would like to have their
memory refreshed, here is the crux of the two conversations:

A woman at the Dallas lab informed me that they were no longer going to
process any mailers. Mailers that they receive would be forwarded to Fair
Lawn. She also said that Dallas will no longer process Kodachrome....period.

A different woman at the San Leandro (CA) Kodak lab told me that they do
process mailers. I specifically asked about Kodachrome arriving in
mailers, several of which would be packaged in a parcel and sent by
Priority mail. Absolutely, she told me. And that they would be returned
in one package.

In addition to posting the two conversations, I included the mailing
address for San Leandro.

Well, don't anybody use it! I took both conversations as gospel (something
one should not do with Kodak). I sent two rolls in mailers to San Leandro
3 weeks ago (in the same envelope). Today they came back from ROCKVILLE,
MD via Bulk Rate postage! The images look OK at first glance. However,
the point is that I could have sent the film directly to Fair Lawn and had
better service. My sole reasons for selecting San Leandro were because I
know folks in the Bay Area who are happy with their product and that San
Leandro is about 1000 miles closer to me than Fair Lawn. In fact, I didn't
know that they had reopened their Rockville lab. The slides are stamped
(not embossed) "FEB 98R- -".

I don't like to bother A&I with onesies and twosies, but maybe I will in
the future.
