The photo was taken Provia 100 film, since then my standard slide film. But maybe one should consider that the air up there i _very_ clear and the light quite different from what I am used to down here i Stockholm where I live. Maybe now I should tell the complete story behind that photo as well. The Dm3-class locos were built in the late fifties and early sixities. In 1991 they were given a complete overhaul in order to extend their lives for some another ten years or so. They also was repainted in blue. I hade been around in the Vassijaure are for the better part of the day, getting a lot of photos of locos in the old brown colour. But none in the new blue livery. My wife had been very undestanding, sitting nearby with a book, but when the weather started to get cooler in the afternoon we finally gave it up. We headed est on the highway that more or less follows the railroad towards the mines in the town of Kiruna. After driving for some 45 minutes or so, I spotted another ore train up on a hillside pulled by a - You guessed it - blue, rebuilt locomotive. I said a lot words one isn't supposed to say. My wife suggested that I should turn around and see if I could chase it, but she preferred to wait for me somewhere. We had seen a nice rest area at a little lake, complete with a cafe, so I left her there and took off west again to chase the train. I caught it at Vassijaure got the shot You've all seen now. When I drove back towards where I had left my wife it started to rain. She waited for me standing under some trees in order to get some cover from the cold rain. What we hadn't observed was that the cafe at the rest area was closed so there was nowhere to take cover when the rain started. We are still married.
