Joseph,

I used to have an Elan II as my primary camera and was quite satisfied with
it.  I found it to be quite reliable.  The metering system works rather
well in most situations, you could safely shoot in the program mode and
achieve consistently good results.  I have an A2e and the eye-controlled
focus in the Elan IIe is the same.  While the eye-control focus does work
well I seldom find a need to use it.
