The power is back on here (sporadically) and the SPORRS server is back up.
The funnel cloud that literally went through the back yard yesterday
thankfully only snapped some trees in half and threw them (and everything
that wasn't attached to the ground) onto the house and tore down some power
lines resulting in only minor damage here, but a mile or so away not so
lucky, with buildings, semis (and of course, mobile homes) damaged and
destroyed and vehicles overturned as they drove down the road. No serious
injuries reported, and the damage was very isolated considering the size of
the St. Louis metropolitan area. A second tornado touched down in the area
yesterday as well.

Last night, part of the large Carol House furniture warehouse debris and
some high tension power lines were blocking the old Rock Island main line
(now UP) just west of Lackland yard (industrial switching yard now) . If I
wasn't working today, I'd be out taking pictures of some of this.

Regards,

Dave
